MkExt is an open-source browser extension starter for SaaS applications, built on the WXT framework and licensed under Apache 2.0. It provides ready-made surfaces—popup, side panel, options, new tab, DevTools, and background pages—so developers can shape an extension around an existing product rather than starting from a blank manifest.

Builds Chrome MV3 and Firefox packages from one React codebase
Includes authentication flow, typed shared state across extension contexts, localization, and themes
Connects to SaaS backends such as Better Auth via a configurable auth URL
